White Plains, NY (June 24, 2019) – A crash between a car and a tractor-trailer resulted in injuries as it snarled traffic along Interstate 287 on Monday morning, June 24th. The collision took place underneath the Westchester Avenue overpass, by Exit 7, around 4:15 a.m.
While the exact events that led to the accident are unclear, police stated that the tractor-trailer had veered off the roadway during the collision. Emergency medical crews were called to the scene, where they confirmed that two people were hurt. Both victims were transported to Westchester Medical Center with at least minor injuries.
Traffic was backed up past Exit 8 as two westbound lanes remained blocked for around two hours following the accident. Authorities are actively conducting a thorough investigation into the cause of the incident, but no further information has been released.
