Yonkers, NY (June 22, 2019) – Around 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday of this past week, multiple firefighters were injured in a house fire at 781 Warburton Avenue in Yonkers.
According to police, flames suddenly broke out in a building, causing it to spread to another house and lead to severe damages. A total of 55 firefighters responded to the scene. Crews initially stated that the fire spread through the building, causing walls on the home to collapse.
Firefighters did not have the fire under control until 11:30 p.m. A total of ten firefighters were taken to hospitals for treatment. All of the occupants in the buildings were able to get out of the buildings safely.
The investigation into the cause of the fire continues at this time.
