Moriah, NY – One Seriously Hurt in ATV Accident on Bartlett Pond Road

Moriah, NY (June 22, 2019) – On Friday, one person was seriously injured in an ATV accident that took place on Bartlett Pond Road in Moriah around 7:52 p.m.

New York State Police claim that 41-year-old Billie Jo Fleming was a passenger on an ATV driven by 44-year-old William Smith. Smith’s ATV ran into a Suzuki King Quad operated by 58-year-old Francis Gagnon.

Both Smith and Fleming were ejected from their vehicle and landed forcefully on the ground. Fleming was immediately taken to the University of Vermont Medical Center, where she has been listed in critical condition. Smith, on the other hand, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.

Smith has since been charged with DWI, second-degree vehicular assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, and a variety of other charges.

The case remains under investigation at this time.
