White Plains, NY (June 17, 2019) – Police have stated that two pedestrians, including a child, were injured after being struck by a motor vehicle that veered onto a sidewalk on Sunday, June 16th. The accident took place around 4:00 p.m. near 271 West Post Road, according to authorities.
Police stated that the accident occurred when the driver of an unspecified vehicle was traveling westbound along the aforementioned road. The driver was reported to have veered around a stopped car, subsequently jumping the curb and striking the two pedestrians.
Emergency medical responders were called to the scene where they attended to the injured parties. Authorities stated that the child was seriously injured and suffered internal injuries, as well as head trauma. However, there has been no information reported on the child’s current condition or the condition of the other victim.
The incident is actively being investigated and no charges have been filed at this time.
