Coney Island, NY (June 17, 2019) – Early on Monday morning, June 17th, firefighters and police were immediately sent to the scene of a massive fire. The incident occurred shortly after midnight as the blaze tore through a total of six homes along West 19th Street.
According to authorities, the blaze started inside one of six attached homes and rapidly spread throughout each one of them. Multiple firefighters arrived at the scene, along with police and emergency medical crews, to battle the flames and attend to any injured parties.
All citizens were reported to have made it out of the burning homes safely. However, at least three firefighters suffered various minor injuries while extinguishing the blaze. At this time, the Red Cross has relocated 16 adults and two children. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
