Brooklyn, NY – Four-Alarm Fire on East 17th Street Leads to Injuries in Fourteen

Brooklyn, NY (June 16, 2019) – Around 4:04 a.m. on Thursday of this week, emergency responders were called to the scene of a four-alarm fire on East 17th Street.
The fire was so severe that it spread quickly, coming inside three homes next to it. 170 firefighters were called to the scene to put out the blaze.
Paramedics were called to the scene of the fire to tend to injuries in 11 civilians, including a six-week-old child, as well as three firemen. All of the parties were transported to the hospital and are expected to recover, but we do not know their conditions at this time.
The structural integrity of the homes is being determined by safety officials, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
