Long Island Sound, NY – Kayak Accident with Injuries to New Jersey Man

Long Island Sound, NY (June 15, 2019) – Police claim that one person was injured in a kayak accident that took place this afternoon, June 15th.
Police claim that the man, identified as 47-year-old Humberto Castro, of Newark, NJ, was injured after they found that he had been involved in an accident where his kayak tipped over into the water. The water was 64 degrees when he hit it.
When officers found him, he was clinging to his overturned kayak. Castro was immediately pulled out of the water and onto a police boat where he was then taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.
The accident investigation continues at this time.
