Staten Island, NY: Injuries Result from Collision on Bridge

Staten Island, NY (June 13, 2019) – Heavy traffic delays along the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge were the result of a serious motor vehicle accident that took place on Wednesday evening, June 12th. According to authorities, the crash occurred at 7:11 p.m. in the left lane of the upper-level of the bridge.
While the number of vehicles involved in the collision is unknown at this time, a spokesman for the FDNY stated that emergency responders were on the scene shortly after the crash. The presence of emergency responders forced the closure of the Brooklyn-bound upper-level as well.
Authorities stated that injuries were suffered in the collision. However, there was no word on hospital transports at this time. Likewise, police have not mentioned the severity of injuries or the number of victims, as the events of this incident are actively under investigation.
