Oakland Gardens, NY: Woman Critical Following Hit-and-Run

Oakland Gardens, NY (June 12, 2019) – According to police, a woman is currently in critical condition after she was struck by an SUV that fled the area. Police stated that the incident took place late Tuesday night, June 11^th, at the intersection of 223^rd Place and 64^th Avenue.

According to authorities, the unidentified 47-year-old woman was hit by a white Dodge Durango while she was attempting to walk across the aforementioned intersection. The incident happened just shortly before midnight and the driver of the Durango did not remain at the scene to assist the victim or cooperate with authorities.

Paramedics who responded to the crash site transported the victim to North Shore University Hospital. She is currently listed in critical condition. Police have stated that the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.
