Copiague, NY – Teen Injured in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident

Copiague, NY (June 12, 2019) – Police are currently searching for the driver of a vehicle who authorities say struck a teenager on a bicycle and then fled the scene. The incident was reported to have occurred around 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11th.
According to police, a 15-year-old girl had been riding a bicycle when she was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Dixon Avenue and Bethpage Road. The driver did not remain at the site of the collision but left the scene instead.
Police and medical crews were dispatched to the scene where they transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment of at least minor injuries. She has since been released.
At this time, no further information has been made available, as police continue to look for the hit-and-run driver as part of the investigation into this incident.
