Staten Island, NY (June 9, 2019) – On Saturday, June 8th, police arrived at the scene of a fatal accident on 5799 Hylan Boulevard that also led to serious injuries to one party.
The accident took place around 5:41 a.m. Police arrived at the scene of the accident to find that a 37-year-old, identified as Jorge Pantaleon-Mendez, was found with severe bodily trauma after crashing his SUV into a light pole around that area. He was immediately taken to the hospital but pronounced deceased while there.
A 34-year-old passenger in the SUV was also ejected from the vehicle and found unresponsive with bodily trauma. He was taken to the hospital and listed in critical but stable condition.
Police believe that the SUV had been traveling at a high rate of speed when the accident took place.
The investigation remains under investigation at this time.
