Williamstown, NY: Two-Vehicle Accident with Fatality Rte 17

Williamstown, NY (June 8, 2019) – On Sunday, around 9:58 p.m., a two-vehicle accident took place that took the life of one individual after the two vehicles collided head-on along County Route 17.
An investigation revealed that a 2007 Dodge pickup truck and 2007 Chrysler van collided head-on. Police found that the driver of the pickup truck was killed at the scene, while the driver of the van was taken to the Upstate Hospital with a variety of serious injuries but is expected to recover.
Police have since confirmed that the parties involved actually knew each other and had been at the same gathering that day. The driver of the pickup truck was identified as a 47-year-old man and the driver of the van was identified as a 30-year-old man.
The New York State Police and various other parties continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
