Todt Hill, NY – 20 Children Taken to Hospital After Bus Accident on Staten Island

Todt Hill, NY (June 7, 2019) – A school bus was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Friday morning, June 7, at approximately 9:39 a.m., according to police in Staten Island. Officials stated that the incident occurred in the vicinity of Todt Hill Road and Ocean Terrace in Todt Hill for reasons that are under investigation at this time.
A spokeswoman for Pioneer Transportation Corporation stated that the school bus was carrying children from PS 50 in Oakwood when the driver experienced trouble navigating a turn. The accident appears to have been relatively minor but both police and emergency medical crews were called to the scene.
Altogether, 20 students were taken to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze to be treated. All injuries suffered during the accident were reported to be minor and non-life threatening.
