The Bronx, NY (June 5, 2019) – A woman who was seriously injured in crash on the Bronx River Parkway last Friday, May 31st, has tragically succumbed to her injuries. Police identified the victim as 18-year-old Brianna Jones, of the Bronx.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle involved stated that he was cut-off by another unspecified vehicle while traveling along the parkway at an unspecified time. The driver was in the center and swerved to avoid an accident but unfortunately struck a guardrail as a result. The vehicle ultimately crashed into a tree near Dewitt Avenue as well. Police and emergency medical crews were dispatched to the scene of the crash a short time later.
18-year-old Jones was a passenger in the backseat of the vehicle and she was promptly taken to Westchester Medical Center. She was pronounced dead at an unspecified time.
Police are actively conducting an investigation which includes a search for the driver who caused the accident.
