Amsterdam, NY (June 5, 2019) – Authorities have now released the identity of the motorcyclist who was tragically killed following a collision with another vehicle on Friday evening, May 31st. According to police, 28-year-old Dylan J. Eder, of Glenville, died from injuries he sustained in a crash that took place at the intersection of Route 5S and Route 30.

The collision was reported to have taken place at 6:22 p.m. as Eder was traveling westbound along Route 5S. The driver of a Subaru, identified only as an 83-year-old resident of Amsterdam, failed to yield the right of way to Eder and turned in front of the motorcyclist. Eder subsequently crashed into the Subaru.

Police and emergency medical crews were dispatched to the scene, including a medical helicopter that airlifted Eder to Albany Medical Center. Eder sadly succumbed to his injuries a short time later. The driver of the Subaru was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital to be evaluated and was ticketed for failure to yield, according to police.
