Amherst, NY: Police Officer Hospitalized Following Rollover

Amherst, NY (June 5, 2019) – According to authorities, a UB police officer was involved in an accident with another vehicle while responding to a call on Wednesday evening, June 5th. The accident took place near Grover Cleveland Highway and Maynard Drive at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Police stated that the officer was responding to a call with the Amherst Police Department when the police vehicle the officer was driving collided with another vehicle for unspecified reasons. The impact of the collision caused the officer’s vehicle to overturn onto its roof. Emergency medical crews were immediately summoned to the crash site to assist the officer.
At the scene, medical professionals evaluated the victim, who was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment. The victim’s injuries were reported as non-life-threatening at this time. The other driver appeared to be unharmed in the crash, which is likely under investigation.
