Island Park, NY: Many Injured- Stolen Car Crashes into Truck/Police

Island Park, NY (June 5, 2019) – According to police, a man stole a vehicle and led a car chase with officers before causing a seriously injurious crash on Wednesday, June 5th. Authorities have not stated the time when the collisions occurred. However, the chase was reported to have ended on Industrial Place.
The incident started after the suspect was reported to have stolen a vehicle in New York City. The male driver entered Nassau County, where it is believed that he was then pursued by police. According to authorities, the suspect ultimately collided with a commercial truck, as well as with a police vehicle, several times. Emergency crews were promptly called to the scene, where injuries were verified.
At this time, several officers were reported to have been hurt but there has been no word concerning the conditions of those victims or any other parties involved. The unidentified suspect resisted arrest and was taken into custody.
