Ramapo, NY – Two Pedestrians Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver

Ramapo, NY (June 4, 2019) – A serious personal injury accident closed down Route 45 for approximately six hours on Tuesday morning, June 4th, after two pedestrians were struck by a hit-and-run driver. The accident was reported to have occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. near Washington Avenue, according to local police.
Authorities stated that the two pedestrians were hit by a vehicle that proceeded to flee the scene immediately afterward. Emergency medical crews were called to the accident site along with police, where they transported one of the victims to Nyack Hospital. The other injured party was taken to Westchester Medical Center. There has been no word concerning the condition of either victim at this time.
Route 45 was closed in the area and reopened around 10:30 a.m. The incident remains under investigation. Police are asking anyone with any information on the driver involved to please call 845-357-2400.
