East Quogue, NY – Fatal Car Accident on Old Country Road

East Quogue, NY (June 2, 2019) – Yesterday morning, police responded to the scene of a fatal car accident that took place on Old Country Road around 9:25 a.m.
Southampton Town Police say that, at the time, 19-year-old Gianni Mongelluzzo, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Corvette when he was involved in an accident and struck a pole and some evergreen trees.
Mongelluzzo was pulled from the vehicle by firefighters in East Quogue and then airlifted to the Stony Brook University Hospital. While there, he was tragically pronounced deceased.
There were no passengers in the vehicle and nobody else was injured in the accident. Police continue to investigate the crash at this time.
