Long Island Sound, NY – Three Men Rescued After Boating Accident

Long Island Sound, NY (June 1, 2018) – Three Brentwood men were rescued after being involved in a boating accident that left them stranded in the water for hours in the Long Island Sound.
Riverhead Town Police quickly arrived at the scene of the accident around 6:20 a.m. on May 25th to find that the three men had been involved in a boating accident and fell into the water where they became stranded. They were wearing life jackets. The boat capsized around 1:00 a.m. and they were unable to come back to shore.
The three men were immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment of cold water exposure. Police confirmed that the parties are expected to make a full recovery.
Various entities assisted at the scene including Riverhead Police, the U.S. Coast Guard, and Wading River firefighters.
