The Bronx, NY – Police Officer Injured in Motorcycle Accident on Hutchinson River Parkway

The Bronx, NY (June 1, 2019) – Around 6:00 a.m. yesterday, May 31st, police responded to the scene of a motorcycle accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway. According to police, an officer was injured in the motorcycle accident.
Officer Kurt Jones, who was identified as a 13-year veteran on the force, was knocked from his motorcycle and badly injured. The accident took place when a driver made a U-turn on an exit ramp after becoming lost. He has since been taken to the Jacobi Medical Center and has been listed in critical condition.
The officer had been on his 2001 Triumph motorcycle at the time. The woman who struck him was in a 2011 Toyota and has since been identified as a 26-year-old, who has since received a ticket for driving the wrong way.
The officer is currently being treated for traumatic injuries and the investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
