Hicksville, NY – Teen on Bicycle Struck and Critically Injured by Vehicle

Hicksville, NY (May 29, 2019) – A teenage boy is currently in critical condition after the bicycle he was riding was struck by a motor vehicle on Tuesday night, May 28^th. According to police, the victim was struck while riding the bike at around 9:30 p.m. at a local intersection.

Authorities have stated that the 16-year-old boy was attempting to ride the bike across Old Country Road, at the intersection with Newbridge Road, at the aforementioned time. The teen was then struck by a car for unconfirmed reasons, resulting in the presence of police and paramedics at the scene.

The victim was quickly transported to a nearby hospital where he has been listed in critical condition. He was reported to have suffered multiple head injuries during the accident. The driver who struck the boy remained at the scene and is not facing any charges at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
