Florida, NY – Man Killed in Car Accident on Fort Hunter Road

Florida, NY (May 29, 2019) – According to Montgomery County Sheriff’s officials, a man was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident that took place on Tuesday, May 28th. The accident was stated to have taken place on Fort Hunter Road near Route 5S for unknown reasons.
Officials stated that a deputy discovered the vehicle crashed off the roadway at approximately 7:30 a.m. According to authorities, the deputy approached the vehicle and found the unresponsive driver. Responders were promptly called to the scene, where they pronounced the victim deceased due to injuries suffered in the accident.
The sheriff’s office later established the identity of the victim as 61-year-old James A. Wilkinson, of Amsterdam. As of Tuesday evening, the official cause of the crash continues to be investigated. No further details have been provided.
