Colonie, NY (May 29, 2019) – According to state police, a man from Mechanicville tragically lost his life during a late morning car crash on Wednesday, May 29th. The accident was reported to have occurred on the Adirondack Northway around 10:20 a.m. for reasons that are under investigation.
Police stated that 79-year-old Charles Kerls, of Mechanicville, was traveling along the northbound lanes of the Northway when he crashed off the road and into a tree near Exit 4. Traffic backed up as police and paramedics responded to the crash site and found Kerls deceased due to his injuries.
At this time, police have not been able to determine the exact cause of the accident or whether or not anyone else played a part in the incident. No further information has been released.
