Staten Island, NY: Ten Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on V-N Bridge

Staten Island, NY (May 26, 2019) – Police confirmed that ten people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash that took place on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
The incident took place around 7:00 a.m. when firefighters received reports about an overturned vehicle that caused multiple other vehicles to crash in the area. Emergency units arrived, where they found that injuries had taken place.
Authorities ended up treating a total of eight people with injuries. Two of them had serious but non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported to hospitals for treatment and all are expected to recover.
At this time, police have not confirmed what caused the first vehicle to flip over, leading to the pileup. Various lanes of the bridge were closed down while police investigated.
