Venice, NY: Ped Critical in Accident with Vehicle on Moravia-Venice

Venice, NY (May 24, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured in an accident that took place on Moravia-Venice Town Line Road Friday morning, May 24^th. Police stated that the accident happened at 10:14 a.m. just shortly before Cayuga County dispatchers received the call.

According to authorities, a vehicle hit the pedestrian and then proceeded to roll over into a utility pole, subsequently taking down wires. Dispatchers promptly sent emergency medical responders to the scene where the pedestrian was airlifted via Mercy Flight to a nearby hospital. The victim has been listed in critical condition and required surgery but no further information has been released.

New York State Police are currently in charge of the ongoing investigation into this incident. At this time, it is believed that no other injuries were reported and no tickets have been issued.
