Hilton, NY – Pedestrian Accident Leads to Fatality on Main Street

Hilton, NY (May 25, 2019) – This morning, around 11:00 a.m., an elderly pedestrian was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident that took place on Main Street.

Monroe Sheriff’s deputies responded to the accident where they found that the pedestrian, identified as an 83-year-old man, was struck by a Silverado pickup truck that had been making a turn onto Main Street. Police also reported that there were heavy rain showers at the time of the accident.

The truck driver pulled over and immediately called 911. Deputies say that the driver then got out of his truck and assisted the pedestrian until first responders arrived at the scene.

Medical personnel treated the man who was struck. The pedestrian was transported to the Strong Memorial Hospital and, while there, he succumbed to his injuries. The truck driver did not sustain injuries.

The truck driver continues to cooperate with the police. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
