Grand Island, NY: Man Seriously Injured in Crash- Needed Extrication

Grand Island, NY (May 22, 2019) – A man had to be extricated from a vehicle following an accident that took place on Tuesday afternoon, May 21^st. The crash was reported to have occurred on Whitehaven Road at an unspecified time, according to authorities.

Volunteer firefighters were among the first responders at the scene in the 2400 block of the aforenamed road, where one man was trapped inside a vehicle after crashing into a pole for unknown reasons. According to Grand Island fire officials, the victim was conscious and alert when they arrived at the scene.

The man was quickly extricated from the car and evaluated by firefighters, at which point he was taken to Erie County Medical Center via Twin City Ambulance. His injuries were ultimately determined to be non-life threatening. The cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time.
