Syosset, NY: Ambulette Sideswiped by Vehicle in Accident on Rte 135

Syosset, NY (May 22, 2019) – Authorities stated that an ambulette driver was tragically killed in an accident that occurred on Route 135 on Wednesday morning, May 22^nd, at an unspecified time. According to police, the accident took place along the shoulder of Route 135, just south of Jericho Turnpike.

The unidentified male driver of the ambulette was reported to have stopped along the side of Route 135 to converse with the operator of a second vehicle. While speaking with the other party, a third vehicle then sideswiped both of the stationary vehicles, as well as the ambulette driver.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the accident site a short time later and the driver of the ambulette was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the third vehicle that struck the victim remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities. The incident is actively under investigation at this time.
