Greenridge, NY – Two Injured in Attic Fire on Annadale Road

Greenridge, NY (May 21, 2019) – A blaze that was reported to have started in the attic of a home on Monday afternoon, May 20th, resulted in the injuries of at least two responders. The fire was stated to have broken out around 1:15 p.m. when fire crews were dispatched to 170 Annadale Road, in the vicinity of Watkins Avenue.
According to a spokesman for the FDNY, there was serious damage to the roof of the home when crews arrived, and it took approximately 45 minutes to get the fire under control. Over a dozen FDNY vehicles were called to the scene, where around 50 emergency responders provided assistance.
Medical crews attended to at least two firefighters who suffered injuries during the blaze, and the extent of those injuries is believed to be minor at this time. No further information has been reported, as the cause of the fire is under extensive investigation.
