Wallkill, NY – One Person Dead Following Car Fire in Scotchtown

Wallkill, NY (May 20, 2019) – A fatal car fire erupted on Sunday morning, May 19th, at the Sherwood Forest Garden Apartments in Scotchtown, according to authorities. The incident, which is actively under investigation, was reported to have started at an unspecified time.
According to police, one car caught fire for unknown reasons at the aforementioned location. While the flames damaged two other vehicles, only one person has been confirmed to have been involved in the incident. Emergency responders were immediately called to the scene.
Upon their arrival, authorities pronounced one person deceased. That individuals’ name has not been released at this time. Police stated that no criminality is suspected; however, the official cause of the fire is currently being investigated. No further information has been provided.
