New Dorp, NY (May 20, 2019) – Emergency officials were reported to have been summoned to the scene of a pedestrian accident with a motor vehicle that took place on Monday morning, May 20th. The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Hylan Boulevard, according to police.
Officials stated that an MTA bus is believed to have struck an unidentified pedestrian at the intersection of Hylan Boulevard and Reno Avenue. While there is no designated crosswalk at the intersection, the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
Emergency medical responders were called to the scene, where they transported the victim to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze. At this time, there has been no mention of the current condition of the victim. An out-of-commission MTA bus was observed at the scene and the NYPD is being assisted in their investigation by MTA officials.
