Albany, NY – Young Child Saved from House Fire on Third Avenue

Posted on Sunday, May 19th, 2019 at 8:07 pm

Albany, NY (May 19, 2019) – A young child is alive due to two police officers who acted quickly and saved a three-year-old from a house fire on 3rd Avenue.

According to authorities, the accident took place this morning, May 19th. When officers arrived at the scene of the fire, they found the mother’s boy outside the home, crying hysterically that she was unable to reach her 3-year-old son from the third floor.

Two officers were driven back by the fire when they attempted to get inside. They then went up to the fire escape and found the boy and neighbors who were trying to reach him.

The boy was crying and the officers grabbed the boy at the fire escape. He suffered smoke inhalation injuries but, at this time, is expected to be okay.

The investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
