New Cassel, NY (May 18, 2019) – A serious bicycle accident took place on Prospect Avenue in New Cassel. The accident caused serious injuries to the bicyclist involved.
According to police, a 48-year-old man was operating a Ford Crown Victoria and traveling eastbound on Prospect Avenue. A 59-year-old was headed the same way on his bicycle.
The bicyclist suddenly left the bicycle lane for reasons that are unknown and was struck by the taxi cab. Police say that he was struck and injured on 914 Prospect Avenue.
The taxi cab driver remained at the scene and called 911. The male bicyclist was taken to a local hospital. He has been listed in critical condition ever since.
The investigation into the accident continues at this time.
