Montgomery, NY – Two People Killed in Crash Along Interstate 84

Montgomery, NY (May 17, 2019) – A man and a woman, both from Beacon, tragically lost their lives in a motor vehicle accident that took place at around 6:41 a.m. on Friday morning, May 17, according to police. The crash occurred along Interstate 84 in Montgomery, between exits 5 and 5A.
Authorities stated that 36-year-old Heather Morgan was driving a Dodge Journey westbound on I-84 near Maybrook with one passenger, identified as 37-year-old Derick Jones. For reasons that have not been confirmed, Morgan veered into the median between the aforementioned exits and ultimately crashed into a tree. Whether or not any other vehicles were involved has not been stated at this time.
Emergency medical responders were quickly summoned to the scene where both Morgan and Jones were sadly pronounced deceased due to their injuries. Police are actively investigating the events that led to the crash.
