University Heights, NY – Four People Including Child Hospitalized After Bronx Apartment Fire

University Heights, NY (May 17, 2019) – An apartment fire tore through a building in the Bronx on Friday morning, May 17, and left four people, including a small child, hospitalized, according to officials. The fire was reported to have taken place in an apartment unit on the fourth floor of the building located on Davidson and West 183rd Street the University Heights section of the city at around 2:50 a.m.
Authorities stated that dozens of residents were forced out of their homes in the middle of the night after the blaze broke out or unknown reasons. Firefighters worked quickly at the scene and were able to keep the fire from spreading to other floors of the building. Emergency medical crews were reported to have transported four injured victims, including a small boy, to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
At this time, the cause of the fire is presently under investigation as no further details concerning the events that led to this incident have been provided.
