Binghamton, NY: Several People Injured in Head-On Collision

Binghamton, NY (May 17, 2019) – A serious collision on Court Street in downtown Binghamton drew responses from three ambulances on Thursday afternoon, May 16, according to authorities. Responders were dispatched to the scene of the crash between three vehicles at approximately 4:22 p.m.

Police stated that the accident took place just west of State Street while University students were engaged in an annual bar crawl event in the area. According to authorities, a Toyota SUV was traveling westbound when it veered over the double yellow line and crashed head-on into an eastbound minivan. Following the initial collision, a pickup truck hit the rear-end of the minivan.

An official from a responding fire department stated that three ambulances transported several people to nearby hospitals. At this time, there has been no official word on the exact number of people involved in the collision or the severity of injuries.

The crash is under investigation and no information has been reported concerning any tickets that may have been issued.
