Rochester, NY (May 16, 2019) – Early Thursday morning, May 16th, police apprehended a woman after she fled a traffic stop and crashed into two police cars, subsequently injuring an officer. According to authorities, the incident happened at around 1:20 a.m. on Saxton Street.

Officers stated that they pulled over an unidentified 35-year-old woman from Rochester and discovered that there was a warrant out for her arrest a short time later. According to the Rochester Police Department, officers attempted to take her into custody when she fled the scene by abruptly reversing her car out of the driveway where she had been parked. She struck two police cars and then quickly sped away, nearly hitting officers in the process.

Police pursued the woman around the block, where she stopped at the location she was originally pulled over along Saxton Street. One police officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment of at least minor injuries. The woman was arrested on the warrant, although more charges are pending at this time.
