Brownville, NY – Woman Airlifted to Hospital After Garage Explosion

Brownville, NY (May 15, 2019) – A woman was seriously injured on Tuesday evening, May 14th, after an explosion in a garage occurred at a home on Carr Road, according to authorities. Fire crews stated that the incident took place at approximately 7:30 p.m. at the garage located at 20800 Carr Road.
According to authorities, an explosion is believed to have led to the fire, which resulted in the presence of firefighters and emergency medical crews at the scene. Paramedics arrived to find the unidentified woman suffering from burn injuries and she was immediately airlifted to Upstate Medical University in Syracuse for treatment.
Officials are not sure as to whether or not an explosion actually occurred, as the cause of the fire is actively under investigation at this time. The garage has been reported as a total loss but no further information concerning the incident or the condition of the victim has been made available.
