Afton, NY – Man Crushed and Killed in Workplace Accident with Vehicle

Afton, NY (May 15, 2019) – A 50-year-old man was reported to have tragically lost his life following a serious accident which occurred while working on a vehicle Tuesday evening, May 14th. The accident took place at approximately 6:34 p.m. on Harpursville Spur-Oak Hill Road, according to police.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene where authorities believe that the unidentified man was crushed by a vehicle while working on it. Medical crews sadly pronounced the victim dead at the scene from injuries sustained when the car fell on top of him.
The Harpursville Fire Department was assisted by New York State Police, as well as Chenango County Sheriff’s deputies. At this time, no further information has been made available as police continue to investigate the events that led to this incident.
