Pleasantville, NY: DUI Causes Injurious Wrong-Way Crash on Parkway

Pleasantville, NY (May 14, 2019) – Police stated that a drunken driver traveled the wrong way down Saw Mill River Parkway early on Tuesday morning, May 14th, and subsequently collided head-on with another vehicle. The incident was reported to have taken place shortly before 1:15 a.m. in the vicinity of Grant Street.
According to the spokesman for the Westchester County police, an unidentified man headed north in the southbound lane of Saw Mill River Parkway in a 2013 Honda Civic and crashed into a 2011 BMW. Emergency responders including firefighters arrived at the scene, where they extricated the intoxicated driver of the Civic.
The driver of the Civic was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla with injuries classified as serious. The other driver involved was reported to have suffered leg injuries and was transported to the same hospital for treatment. The drunk driver was arrested and will be placed into custody upon his release from the hospital.
