Coram, NY – Police Officer Injured in Crash at Route 83 Intersection

Coram, NY (May 12, 2019) – On Saturday, around 9:00 p.m., a Suffolk County police officer was injured in a crash with his cruiser at an intersection.
The accident, according to authorities, took place at the intersection of Route 83 and Middle Country Road. At the time, the officer, whose name has not yet been released, was responding to a call when he collided with another vehicle for reasons unknown.
The officer was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not deemed life-threatening. Nobody else was injured in the crash.
The intersection was closed for approximately two hours following the accident. Police continue their investigation at this time.
