Groveland, NY (May 11, 2019) – Police say that four people, including a sheriff’s deputy from Livingston County, are now recovering following a car crash at a local intersection. The accident took place between two vehicles on Tuesday.
The crash, according to police, took place around 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of Mount Morris Geneseo Road and Groveland Station Road.
At the time, officers say that a minivan was being driven by a 39-year-old woman. It pulled up at the stop sign on Groveland Station and tried to make a left turn onto Mount Morris Geneseo. This caused her vehicle to pull into the path of Deputy Michael Phillips.
The woman had two passengers in her vehicle, a 12-year-old and 15-year-old. They were all transported to the Strong Memorial Hospital with injuries.
Phillips was also injured but received the most minor injuries.
Investigators said that the driver of the minivan will now receive a ticket for failing to yield. The investigation into the accident continues.
