Schroon Lake, NY – Truck Driver Injured in Tractor-Trailer Rollover Crash

Schroon Lake, NY (May 10, 2019) – New State Police officers were summoned to the scene of a serious tractor-trailer accident that took place at approximately 3:41 a.m. on Friday morning, May 10th. According to authorities, the crash happened along Interstate 87, near Exit 27, for reasons that have not been verified.
Police stated that the tractor-trailer being driven by 58-year-old Robert D. Baggs, of Peru, had been heading north along the interstate when the semi exited the roadway. The truck, which had been hauling U.S. mail, overturned onto the driver’s side, subsequently pinning Baggs in the cab.
Emergency medical responders were immediately sent to the scene, where they extricated the victim. Baggs was promptly transported to Glen Falls Hospital to be treated for abrasions to his left leg, according to police. Baggs was ticketed for failure to use a designated lane; however, the cause of the accident is likely under investigation at this time.
