Marion, NY: Man Airlifted to Hospital After Collision on Jagger Rd

Marion, NY (May 9, 2019) – A motor vehicle accident that was possibly the result of mechanical failure resulted in one man being airlifted to the hospital on Thursday morning, May 9th. According to police, a man was involved in a crash after his vehicle went off of Jagger Road in the vicinity of Smith Road at approximately 2:30 a.m.
Authorities stated that 52-year-old Shawn Gere, of Walworth, had been traveling along Jagger Road in an unspecified truck when he a utility pole as well as several trees. Gere had to be pulled from the truck, according to firefighters, and a Mercy Flight helicopter was immediately called to the scene.
Gere was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital but the severity of his injuries has not been stated at this time. No one else was injured in the accident, which is currently under investigation.
