East Patchogue, NY – Firefighter Injured in Apartment Fire

East Patchogue, NY (May 9, 2019) – A fire that broke out inside of an apartment on Wednesday night, May 8th, resulted in at least minor injuries to one individual. Authorities stated that firefighters arrived at the scene after the blaze began at approximately 9:15 p.m. due to reasons that have not been confirmed at this time.

The fire tore through the apartment at the La Bonne Vie apartment building as responders made their way to the scene. According to police, the fire was ultimately contained to one apartment unit and the resident was reported to have made it out uninjured. Emergency medical crews at the scene confirmed that the injured party was a firefighter who had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.

There is currently no word on the exact condition of the injured firefighter or the events that led to the fire. The investigation is ongoing.
