Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY: Pedestrian Injured in Serious Hit-and-Run

Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY (May 9, 2019) – Police reported on a 25-year-old woman who was hit by a car that fled the scene while walking in a crosswalk on Wednesday afternoon, May 9th. The incident happened at approximately 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of Middleton Street and Lee Avenue, according to authorities.
The victim, identified as Miriam Katz, 25, landed on the hood of the vehicle before hitting the ground and rolling to the other side of the intersection. Police stated that a silver sedan sideswiped another driver at the stoplight before striking Katz. The driver of that vehicle used the sidewalk to flee the scene.
Paramedics were summoned to the accident site where they transported Katz to Bellevue Hospital. She is being treated for a broken tibia, clavicle, and pelvis at this time. The silver sedan was later recovered but police are still searching for the driver.
