Mount Vernon, NY – 9-Year-Old Boy Hit and Killed by Vehicle

Mount Vernon, NY (May 9, 2019) – According to officials, a 9-year-old boy was tragically struck and killed by a motor vehicle on Wednesday night, May 8th, for reasons that have not been confirmed at this time. Police stated that an unspecified vehicle struck the boy on an unidentified roadway.
Authorities have not specified the time of the accident or the name of the road but identified the victim as a fourth-grade student at Graham Elementary School in Mount Vernon. Emergency medical crews were called to the scene of the collision but were sadly unable to save the child. It has not been stated as to whether or not he died at the scene or was transported to a hospital first.
Officials have not verified if the boy was walking in a crosswalk or along the road at the time of the incident, as all the details are currently being withheld during the investigation.
