Long Island City, NY: 93-Year-Old Woman Killed by Car in Queens

Long Island, NY (May 8, 2019) – On Wednesday morning, May 8th, emergency vehicles were promptly dispatched to the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident that sadly claimed the life of an elderly woman in Queens. The accident was reported to have taken place at 5:52 a.m. at Queens Plaza South at 27th Street.
According to authorities, the victim who has now been identified as 93-year-old Lillian Muller was hit by a vehicle while walking in a crosswalk at the above-mentioned intersection. Police stated that the vehicle involved was a Hyundai Elantra that was traveling eastbound and just exited the Queensboro Bridge at the time of the incident.
Emergency responders arrived at the crash site, where Muller was tragically pronounced deceased due to her injuries. Authorities stated that she lived only a few blocks away from where the accident occurred.
The driver of the Elantra remained at the scene and no charges have been filed at this time. The investigation into the events that led to this incident remains under investigation.
