Harlem, NY: Six People Including Four Children Killed in Apt. Fire

Posted on Wednesday, May 8th, 2019 at 9:47 pm

Harlem, NY (May 8, 2019) – Around 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8th, a serious fire broke out in an apartment that tragically resulted in the deaths of two adults and four children. The devastating blaze occurred inside of a fifth-floor apartment at the Frederick Samuel Houses located on Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard.

At this time, investigators are exploring the possibility that a stove burner may have caused the fire as the flames appear to have broken out inside the kitchen area of the apartment. Firefighters among medical crews and other responders arrived at the scene, where they found the bodies of the six deceased victims.

The two adult victims have been identified as Andrea Pollidore, 45, and her step-brother Mac Abdularaulph, 33. Pollidore’s four children have been identified as Nakiyra, 11, Andre, 8, Brooklyn, 6, and Ellijah, 4. Three other people were also reported to have suffered injuries.

Authorities believe the cause of the fire was purely accidental. The investigation continues at this time.
